Delivered the Benchmark Advance Language Arts Curriculum with fidelity while meeting the needs of approximately 50 fifth grade students, including 12 ESL students and 8 special education students with IEPs.
Identified as a highly effective teacher and invited to host a collegial visit in my classroom for other teachers throughout the Jersey City District.
Appointed the grade level representative to effectively host grade level PLCs and communicate important information to grade level team members.
Supplemented curriculum with projects, teacher-made formative assessment, and homework assignments.
Implemented small group reading, writer’s workshops, and centers to promote a balance of independent practice and teacher-guided learning using print and digital activities.
